Decade 6 -- Summer 1999 -- Good-bye to Pinedale Drive

This picture was taken on the night of Mom and Dad's going away party at our neighbors The PIttards house. We spent the night laughing and crying followed by more laughing and crying.
I love that Dad and I have the exact same expression on our faces. I think Lindsay might have been getting goosed in this picture.
Clare was there and she definitely helped ease the burden of saying farewell to our neighborhood of 20 years.
A lot of the details surrounding my parents leaving Pinedale are blurry to me and I don't need to wonder why. It was painful and always will be, but what is not painful is the happiness and joy they have found in their new home in Missoula, Montana. It is a truly amazing place.

Decade 5 -- Spring 1985

This is a great photo taken by one of Dad's photojournalism students named Mike Lennon (his name is on the back of the photo). The camera is a Yashica D and you look down at the viewfinder to use it. I don't know much about these cameras except they take 220 film and can create larger negatives than a 35 mm. I Googled the Yashica D and came up with a lot of hits. There are still some old school purist film photographers that use them.

Decade 4 -- Fall 1972

Nice striped shirt Dad and super groovy piped jumper with scarf accessory Mom. Did the Browns plan these coordinating brown outfits?
My accessory? A big ole white bald head.
This picture could have been taken after they received this small alien from a U.F.O.
Maybe George Clinton's Mothership? I must have gotten booted for being too white.

Decade 3 -- February 1967

These photos were taken by my Mom on the campus of Auburn University.
On the left Dad is standing in front of Samford Hall. On the right he is sitting on a bench outside of Langdon Hall. Since I grew up in Auburn, I know these places well and still find it amazing that my parents met there when they were so young.
Decade 1 -- circa 1947
Dad is the littlest guy on the left in the dark overalls. His sister Alice has her hands on his shoulders. His sister Eloise is the tallest and his sister Chinky (a nickname) is on the end. The three kids in the middle are his first cousins I believe, but I don't know their names.Dad could help me with those names.
He looks just like a miniature version of the man I have known my whole life. Lindsay reminded today that his sisters told him "he would grow into those ears."
